Announcing My Debut Novel

The inspiration for Slaves to Fortune came to me during a family trip to the Jersey Shore in September of 2022. Since then, I have slowly but surely—and at times, glacially—written, revised, pondered, and agonized, all while working full time and helping to raise two wonderful, energetic daughters. And somehow, I have written a novel.

It’s a strange thing to think about—and an even stranger thing to express: I have written a novel. Strange, deeply satisfying, and, at the same time, incredibly humbling.

That I have reached this milestone is thanks in no small part to the support and encouragement of my family, friends, and teachers. I am especially grateful to my wife and daughters, who have tolerated my frequent abstractions, my hastily snatched typing sessions, and my periodic absences to Vassar for solo writing retreats.

And now comes the hard part.

I will soon begin seeking representation—and, with any luck, a publishing home for Slaves to Fortune. And if you’re willing, I would be truly grateful to have your support in any of the following ways:
